  RIP OFF. ARGUMENTATIVE. Had to be asked to leave the property. This company was scheduled to come redo the finish on our bathroom sink. 30 minutes before he was supposed to be there he called me and said that the weather (rainy) might be causing flooding and maybe we should reschedule. I told him that I was actively driving around doing errands and didn't find the weather that bad. Then he moved onto another excuse saying that he's been having truck problems and his truck may not start. (Sounds like someone partied a little too much the night before). He still ended up coming but, was late. He originally quoted us about $250. After just 15 minutes of working on the sink the guy PUNCTURED a hole through my sink basin causing more damage then there already was. He said he'd fix it so we decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. He then told us soon after that that he was going to have to raise the quote from $250 to $450 not including "extra parts" he needed to go scavenger hunting for at multiple stores. We sometimes have a problem with some contractors trying to highball us when they see that we live in a very rich neighborhood. He claimed the sink was more damaged than he thought so he had to charge more. This sounds understandable but, does not call for the original quote to skyrocket - doubling the estimate. $500 now to refinish a bathroom sink?! I wasn't born yesterday. When I told him that was nowhere near his original quote and that we had other companies that gave us an estimate lower than his, he still wanted to charge an arm and a leg. So I told him to stop working and leave because I wasn't going to be ripped off. So by this time he had only been there for 20 min MAX. He wanted $75 for arriving and doing 20 min of work (including damaging my sink even more). Would you pay someone that tried to reschedule, then showed up late, caused more damage to your sink, and doubled the original estimate and asked for $75 dollars after he's been there for 20 minutes? Ya, me neither. He proceeded to argue with me and said he wasn't going to leave until he was paid. I told him we weren't paying $75 for 20 minutes of subpar unprofessional work. Then he said, "Well, just give me like $20 and I'll leave." I told him no. After 15 minutes of arguing he finally left my house cursing and hollering. After he left he called my phone and left a voice mail saying, "If you're man enough you'll call me back!" - wow, I'm glad I kicked this man out of my house. Just think if I had been some helpless old lady. By the way I have that voice mail saved. UPDATE The next company that came out did the job for !!!! $190 !!!!! (Not $450 - $500) and the job was great. So don't get ripped off by this company. A+Refinishing : I know you're going to reply to this review. Why don't you try to explain how we got another company to do an excellent job on our sink for $190 instead of your $450 + "extra parts"? Also I would like you to know that "extra parts" were NOT needed and the other company was able to use the piping that we also gave you to use. In my opinion this shows that you indeed were ripping us off or you're not knowledgeable enough to be repairing people's sinks. Instead of masking my bad review by posting bogus good reviews, how about you apologize for trying to reschedule, being late, causing further damage to our sink, high balling your estimate, arguing and refusing to leave my property, and then leaving me a trashy voicemail? -John Marine Corps Veteran and Expert at not being ripped off
